Motion Graphics by Sham Salim

Recently our first year animators completed a motion graphics assignment with Bucks lecturer Rob Kelly, whose stunning Idents for BBC 2 and other channels can still be seen playing on broadcast TV today. The brief was to create an advert for a new product - a watch. Our students delivered some excellent work, most of which was done in After Effects, a piece of software that few had tried before. One of the most successful is the one you can see above, done by first year animator Sham Salim.

What was most encouraging was the high level of work done across the board by all our students. Being able to use After Effects to create motion graphics gives our students a whole new level of skill  and expertise which will enable them to create digital animation for commercial clients.  After Effects can be used to create motion graphics for commercials, adverts, idents and promotional videos in a fast and efficient pipeline.

One of the key things about studying at Bucks is learning how to use new software, and in particular the software that industry is currently demanding. By making sure that our graduates have the right skills, we hope to make sure they get the best possible start in their careers in creative media.
